Melissa and Tyler are married! They lucked out with the most gorgeous November day for their fall wedding at Walnut Hill in Raleigh!! There was a slight threat of rain for about 10 minutes during wedding party portraits, but that quickly passed leaving a beautiful day. Their wedding was so special and I was honored to be able to capture it!

Melissa and Tyler were one of the first couples to book with me back before I had any weddings under my belt. They trusted the recommendation of a friend to work with me despite my lack of wedding experience at the time - which meant the world to me! They are such a sweet couple - absolutely perfect for one another.

I had captured Melissa and Tyler's engagement session at Walnut Hill last fall, so we were able to look at different spots ahead of time where they had wanted to have photos taken. Walnut Hill is one of the most versatile wedding venues that I have worked at, allowing for so many fun spots for photos.

Melissa and Tyler had such a fun wedding party by their sides on their wedding day. They kept the dance floor partying all night long! The only mishap of the day - was that the wedding bands went missing right before the ceremony. Luckily, someone found them shortly after the ceremony. To make the ring exchange work for the ceremony, they wore the maid of honor and best mans rings for the actual ceremony. There was some smirking and laughing from the wedding party during this part of the ceremony knowing that it wasn't really their rings. I'm just glad the rings were found right afterwards!

There were so many beautiful touches incorporated into Melissa and Tyler's wedding day. I loved capturing their special details as well as so many fun photos while they got ready at the home on the property at Walnut Hill. The house has so many great rooms meant for these gorgeous getting ready photos, as well as a perfect deck space for photos of the wedding party.

The ceremony took place in the open air chapel alongside the pond, as the sun was setting, which made for a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding ceremony! It truly was stunning!!

One of my favorite parts of Melissa & Tyler's day was that we were able to take almost all of their photos before the ceremony, allowing them to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests. It was so nice that they were able to mingle with their guests during this time, before spending the majority of the reception on the dance floor.

At the end of the night, instead of a traditional sparkler exit, they had a wedding party sparkler exit. I absolutely LOVED this and plan to suggest this to all of my future couples! Sparkler exits can be chaotic when all guests participate, so having just the wedding party by their sides during this part of the day was so intimate and fun!
