I traveled home to Michigan over Memorial Day weekend and was able to visit my grandparents in Skandia while I was there. When my grandma and I were chatting about my visit, she asked if I would be willing to take a few photos of her and my grandpa together, as they don't have many updated photos. Of COURSE I said yes! I was so excited that she asked!!

My grandparents are so special to me. They are actually my step-grandparents, as they are my step-mom's parents, but I never think of them any differently than my biological grandparents at all. They have been in my life since I was 5 years old, so I don't remember a time without them. Growing up, they were there for me any time I needed them. Every other Sunday, as my step-mom brought me back home from visiting for the weekend, we would stop at Grandpa Dan and Grandma Kathy's house for dinner. My Grandma Kathy is THE best cook and makes the most amazing home cooked meals. We would spend hours there visiting and always finished the night with a delicious meal and all of the sides that you could think of. We'd play board games in the winter, or hangout outside in summer. They live out in the country and I absolutely love spending time at their house.

I have SO many memories with my grandparents. I loved when we would grill out at the family cabin or have birthday parties out there, I remember fishing with my grandpa, going out four wheeling, picking out pumpkins, cutting down Christmas trees, going to Church on Sundays when we were there early enough, making Christmas cookies with my grandma, watching Packer games on Sundays, and so much more.

When I was in high school, my grandparents came to so many of my track and cross country meets. They went above and beyond and gave me rides from the high school back home when my mom wasn't able to, even though they lived in a different town and didn't have to do that. They spent so many hours in the car over the years to help bring me places and I appreciate that more than they ever knew. They also came to my band and choir concerts when I was younger and supported me no matter what I was doing.

My grandparents will be celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary this August. I pray that I have a long lasting love and marriage like theirs. I love hearing stories from their life together. They are the best grandparents I could have asked for 💗 I love them so much and I am so appreciative of their love and support over the years!
